Ten of Australia’s favourite whisky bars have been recognised as finalists for the 2019 Australian Bar Awards.
Determined via an industry vote, last year’s winners The Elysian Whisky Bar are recognised again alongside a range of venues from around the country. 2019 marks the 19th edition of the Bar Awards, but only the fourth since a dedicated ‘Whisky Bar’ category has been included.
Fellow nominees Whisky & Alement and Boilermaker House are previous recipients of the award. The Whisky category has never been won by the same venue twice and never been won by a venue outside of Victoria.
In 2019 those three Victoria venues again represent that state’s contingent, while there are also three venues from Queensland and one each from New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.
