Laphroaig 28-Year-Old To Be Opened At Melbourne Tasting

A 28-year-old Laphroaig expression not scheduled to arrive in Australia will form the centrepiece of a recently announced tasting at Melbourne’s Elysian bar.

Part of the ‘Opinions Welcome’ series of tastings, The Exchange’s Global Whisk(e)y Ambassador Dan Woolley will host the event. The line-up will also feature the 10-Year-Old Cask Strength Batch 10, which is only available through the distillery shop, as well as two Cairdeas expressions. There is understood to be no Australian allocation for the 28-Year-Old.

Woolley is a known Laphroaig fanatic and has spent time working at the distillery with Manager John Campbell. He recently got married on Islay.

The event takes place Tuesday 6 August and the $130 ticket price includes a bottle of Laphroaig Select and a leather-bound branded booklet.

Tickets are available through The Elysian, which has been nominated for Best Whisky Bar in the upcoming Bar Awards, a category it won last year.
