Viking-themed restaurant and bar Mjolner have confirmed Peat & Meat launches for the Octomore 9 series, which have recently arrived in Australia.
Octomore is the ultra-peated line from Islay’s Bruichladdich distillery and the dinners will see four whiskies matched with four meat courses. Bruichladdich also produce the heavily peated Port Charlotte range, which will feature in a minor role on the night as well.
Mjolner have confirmed dates at both their Sydney and Melbourne locations, both taking place Tuesday 23 July in Melbourne. Tickets are available to the Sydney event here and the Melbourne event here. They will set you back $260, plus booking fee, and include a bottle of Octomore 9.1 to take home.
The nights are the latest in semi-regular whisky events held by the venues. They ran similar sold out Peat & Meat nights last year.
The Octomore 9 series has recently landed in Australia, with limited quantities of the 9.3 (wine cask) and 10-year-old beginning to hit retailers. Bruichladdich is imported into Australia by Spirits Platform.
