Adelaide’s Tin Shed Distillery have released Batch 17 of their Iniquity single malt, which was designed by members of the public at distillery event recently.
The expression is vatted from a mixture of American oak, French oak, port, sherry and wine-cask matured whiskies and was created by members of the Iniquity members club, The Den, during a blending class. It has subsequently been dubbed ‘The Den’s Dram’.
Bottled at 46%, it is now available through Iniquity’s website at $150 or $160 is the distillery’s black presentation box. Orders will be shipped from next week and an email to members today indicated the whisky will make its public tasting debut at the Sydney Whisky Fair 30 and 31 August.
Based on the success of their blending night Iniquity have indicated intentions to run similar events in Adelaide and other locations around Australia.
Official Tasting Notes:
Nose: Honey, menthol, mint and other herbs, with some fruit compote, varnish and polished wood.
Palate: Fruity, warming with syrup and grape character, some vine cane sappiness. Good mouth-feel and the alcohol is structurally forward.
Finish: long with more syrup, mixed grape and some polished wood.
