Eagle Rare Double Eagle Allocation Reaches Australia

Eagle Rare Double Eagle Very Rare

A very limited number of Eagle Rare’s Double Eagle Very Rare expression have landed in Australia through importers Southtrade this month.

One of the most highly sought after expressions for bourbon lovers and collectors, the 20-year-old comes in a flashy black-and-silver box complete with a crystal decanter and display light. The bottles coming into Australia are believed to be from the batch L.1933701, with 518 bottled December 2019. A very small percentage of that outturn was allocated for Australia.

In previous years the bottlings have been allocated to restaurants and bars around Australia although with uncertainty over social distancing restrictions off-premise retail may see a small rise in allocations.

The bottles are believed to be retailing from anywhere between $8,000 and $12,000. Although all are likely to have been allocated, those interested in a bottle are advised to contact specialist bottle stores.

The Double Eagle Very Rare is the peak of the Eagle Rare bourbon range, distilled at Kentucky’s Buffalo Trace distillery. The others are the 10-year-old Eagle Rare and 17-Year-Old which forms part of the Antique Collection series.
